Chief Tom Whitten leads the Lacy Lakeview Police Department with decades of law enforcement experience and a commitment to community-focused policing. Before joining Lacy Lakeview, he served as Chief of Police in Dewitt, Iowa; Carlsbad, New Mexico; and Harlingen, Texas. He also spent 19 years with the El Paso Police Department and later served as Chief Deputy for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years.
Chief Whitten holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Park University, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Sul Ross State University, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Purdue Global. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Under his leadership, the Lacy Lakeview Police Department continues to promote community-oriented policing while actively pursuing proactive strategies to prevent crime and enhance public safety.
